My Mom has had a friend over for most of my stay. I don’t know anything about him except I think he only has one set of clothes because he wears the same thing all the time. As it turns out, he is my Mom’s beau’s friend. I asked her if he has a homeContinue reading “Covid on the Couch?”

1 Semester down, 5 to go
Passed all my classes so now I can enjoy my time in Portland more. I have had my fill of Mexican food but I know I won’t find anything decent is South Dakota so I should continue eating lengua. I miss my car. I am smart to not drive it out here (and die inContinue reading “1 Semester down, 5 to go”
Corona and a Salad
This is no ordinary Corona and salad. It is being enjoyed in a hotel room in Chicago. First beer since finishing my law school exams. I earned it.
Once, When I Was Drunk,
I solved the world’s plastic pollution problem. I said to a friend or college classmate, that if drug dealers/users would only recycle those little plastic baggies after using them then that right there would solve plastic in the ocean. Ta-da!

I think I am just going toContinue reading “Finals Week of 1st semester as a 1L”
Halloween Kills (2021)
I was so looking forward to this movie back in 2020. Then freakin’ Covid happened so it got postponed. Then it got postponed again. I saw it tonight with the Thursday crowd. I really enjoyed it. Picks up right where it left off. Gives some backstory on what happened that night in ’78. The dialogueContinue reading “Halloween Kills (2021)”
I am from Portland, OR
I think I mention this little fact every time I meet someone new. When I am in Portland I remind people that I was born and raised there. I would hate to be confused with a transplant from California, big no-no. Now that I no longer live in Oregon I feel like I had anContinue reading “I am from Portland, OR”
Hispanic Heritage Celebration and October Films
Today there is a Hispanic/Latino celebration event being put together by the Latino/Hispanic student association, or something. I am super excited because believe it or not, there are not that many Latinos (that I have seen) in South Dakota. I am used to dozens of Latino shops, restaurants, taco trucks, etc. in Portland. Not theContinue reading “Hispanic Heritage Celebration and October Films”
