I have a Minolta-xg7 camera that I’ve had for a long time. I bought it used, can’t remember where. I brought it to South Dakota, along with a ziplock bag full of film. I haven’t had an occasion to take it out and shoot. I think I will save it for the Hooding ceremony. I wish it was outside so I wouldn’t have to worry about lighting.
This film has to do with photo journalism during a conflict. If you only saw the photos in the film you wouldn’t know the story of the conflict. It doesn’t really matter. Oppressed or Oppressors, the photos could be from anywhere.
I can’t imagine literally sticking my head out and aiming my camera when someone is shooting in my general direction. It takes guts. Sometimes people literally lose their guts in these moments. Journalists are essential.
