Before the Fifty Shades of Grey films, Jamie Dornan was an Irish model just trying to get his big break in television and film. Fun fact: he did a Calvin Klein ad with Korean model turned actress Shin Min Ah.
At one point Jamie auditioned to play a cop on The Fall, a show about a serial killer in Belfast that has a real thing about brunettes and the lead detective (Gillian Anderson as a blonde (bombshell)). He didn’t get the role of a cop. He got the (drumroll please!) starring role of Paul Spector, the serial killer.
In season 2 episode 1, Paul is trying to get past his urge to tie up and strangle brunettes. Stella is trying to find out who he is. Paul is caught in his lie about having an affair with Katie, the babysitter (Either tell your wife you were somewhere strangling a woman or make up an affair, what’s a man to do?!). Paul and Stella are good together but the best combo is Paul and Katie (played by Aisling Franciosi). She starts to suspect Paul is the Belfast Strangler. Most girls would run to the cops. But Katie ain’t most girls.
