Hispanic Heritage Celebration and October Films

Today there is a Hispanic/Latino celebration event being put together by the Latino/Hispanic student association, or something. I am super excited because believe it or not, there are not that many Latinos (that I have seen) in South Dakota.

I am used to dozens of Latino shops, restaurants, taco trucks, etc. in Portland. Not the case here in Vermillion, South Dakota. I think what I miss most is speaking Spanish with people. I hope there is a good turnout tonight.  It is a three day celebration that is happening during the a lot of Latino Independence Days. I don’t know what about the next three days made Latino countries scream “¡Revolucion!” but that’s just the way that tortilla turned out.

October is one of the best months of the year because of all the horror movies that are coming out. NO TIME TO DIE (not a horror movie but it is a Bond film), THE EVIL DEAD (40th Anniversary, did not like that scene with the tree branch), LAMB (getting some serious Heredity/Midsommar vibes from that trailer), SCREAM (25th Anniversary, hells yeah), WITCH HUNT (not horror but instead Dystopian so that’s its own brand of horror am I right?!) DEMIGOD (family with a secret is always a good place to start, HALLOWEEN KILLS (the only movie I have been waiting over a year for) and lastly ANTLERS.

Antlers I wanna see for a few reasons. Keri Russell, it takes place in Oregon, and it looks freakin’ terrifying.  There are other films coming out in October but obviously I don’t care about any of them or else they would have made this list.
