I have moved to South Dakota for law school. I am minutes away from Iowa and Nebraska. Let me tell you what I have just realized: I have not heard a single police siren or street race since I have been here. It’s so quiet here. At night I can see the stars from my balcony. I would be able to see them better if my Mom didn’t get rid of my telescope sometime in the last 16 years. My roommate said hail can get as big as softballs here. A thunderstorm woke me up the other morning.
The weather here is dry in the day and a little muggy in the evening. I look forward to experiencing my first winter here.
There is a 2 hour time difference from the West Coast to here and I have not adjusted yet. I wake up late and go to sleep late. This might be due to the fact that my schedule is wide open until August. I need to get a routine. As soon as I get my class schedule I will buy my textbooks. So excited to get back into a scholastic state of mind.
